Last week my family traveled to Jamaica for our spring break (pictured above a view from the pool!) We have had the absolute BEST time in one of my favorite tropical destinations where we rented a villa to share with two of my favorite families.
If you would have asked me any time if my life if I plan to rent a villa for vacation, I would have laughed at you because that sounds very unattainable but honestly it’s a GREAT option for you depending on your trip goals. I know many moms and dads who prefer to rent a house when traveling to be able to have ready snacks, laundry and more. I have so many incredible travel partners who have a portfolio of homes/villas all over the world who will have the perfect place for your next adventure.
Here are some of the top reasons to consider a villa:
1. Who doesn’t love privacy and exclusivity
A villa provides an intimate setting for you and your loved ones, free from the crowds typically found at resorts. Doesn’t a private pool and dedicated seating area sound better than getting splashed by other people’s children while you fight to find a server to grab a drink or food? The exclusivity of a private villa allows for a more relaxed and personal vacation.
2. You get tailored amenities and services
Many villas come equipped with amenities such as full staffs, private gyms, game rooms, and more, ensuring your family or group has activities at the palm of their hands. Additionally, personalized concierge services can arrange private chefs, spa treatments, nannies and excursions, enhancing your stay with bespoke experiences. During our stay in Jamaica we had massages under the pavilion, two yoga classes and a paint class for the kids!
3. I can be more cost-effective for groups
Who doesn’t love traveling with your friends? Renting a villa often proves more economical than booking multiple hotel rooms. Also, you will get spacious accommodations and the option to prepare your own meals, so you can manage your vacation budget more effectively while enjoying luxury and comfort. Definitely consider a villa when traveling with family or friends as there is bound to be something for everyone and your kids have built-in playmates!
4. You can get an authentic local experience
Staying in a villa allows you to immerse yourself in the local culture and community. Whether it’s a charming Tuscan farmhouse, a beachfront property in Jamaica, or a hillside retreat in Greece, villas offer a genuine feel of the destination, often in residential neighborhoods that hotels can’t replicate. I also love that the staff here has become like family as they form relationships with our family and teach us about their country and traditions!
5. You have more flexibility and freedom
With a villa, you set the schedule. Enjoy meals at your convenience, and explore the area at your own pace. This flexibility ensures a stress-free vacation tailored to your group’s interests and needs.
